Chili-Recipe

When husband was on his first deployment back in 2009-2012. I lived with his parents. My MIL had a "family cookbook" filled with recipes she had collected from her youth, mission years and early years of being married. I spent weeks typing up each one collecting all of the recipes to have for my own family.

One of our favorite recipes from her collection is the Chili recipe. It is super simple and so delicious!

Chili
Makes 4-5 servings

What you need:
1 Lb. Ground Beef
1 C. Onion
1 C. Green Pepper
28 Oz. Whole tomatoes
8  Oz. Tomato Sauce
2 t. Chili pepper (Add more to taste)
1 t. Salt
1/8 t. Red Pepper
1/8 t. Paprika
15 Oz. Kidney Beans (Drained)

What you do:
Brown meat, onion and green pepper together. Drain the fat.

In large pot. Add cooked ground beef, onion and green pepper. Stir in remaining ingredients except for the kidney beans. Heat until boiling. Reduce heat and simmer for two hours, stirring occasionally.

Stir in beans. Heat through and serve!

I normally move everything over to our crock pot to simmer until we are ready to eat. The great thing about this meal is that it is so simple! I have made it with ground turkey and it tastes just as good!
