Pinned & Tried

I have embarked (again) on a journey to get back in shape. I started watching what I was eating and using an app on my phone to actually log in my calories.
I have also tried to make it a routine(again) to use my elliptical.
Exercise clothes are super expensive. I can't bring myself to pay $$ for something I will be getting sweaty in. No thank you.

I was super excited when I found a tutorial on pinterest. I immediately thought of a few shirts that would work perfectly for this project.
I actually ended up using a combination of two tutorials. This one and this one. I read both of them first and then would switch back and forth depending on what step I was at.

There are already two pretty grand tutorials on this. I don't believe in recreating whats already been done. I will however give a few tips that I learned in the process.

1. Grab a fabric pen. Use it to trace an outline to cut the sleeves. Fold the shirt in half so you can make make sure you have two matching straps.
2. Use a seem ripper. It makes undoing the hem from the bottom of your shirt sooo much easier.
3. Use a shirt that is big on you. You don't want the shirt to be to short or to tight.
4. Try it on when you first cut the straps. That way you can tell if you need to make thinner straps.
5.You can only cut once. You can't add on more fabric. :)
