Cable

Husband and I made a decision this past week to get rid of our cable.
We realized we were spending so much time and money and getting nothing valuable from it. In the three days it has been absent from our life I can already see that it was the best decision we have made.
We decided to sign up for netflix($9 a month is sooo much better then $100).
We use to cuddle in bed and watch movies almost every single night. Then the t.v. & cable came and that all stopped.
But now it is back.
Friday night we watched movies and talked. We were finally able to make choices about certain things that we never really figured out. We made plans and were able to talk about things that were often brushed to the side because...the show came back on. Saturday night we spent hours acting like we were 12 again playing with the wii. I honestly think it was one of my most favorite nights with husband. Somehow we even managed to drag our tired bums out of bed this morning and make it to church.
Tonight it hit me, after spending the first two days thinking of all the things I would miss. I was not missing anything. We layed in bed and talked, and read together and of course watched a movie...then he went to sleep because poor husband has to be at work at 5 a.m.!

Maybe now I will read a little more to Monkey, talk a little more with husband and spend a little more time on the other important things.
Who knows getting rid of the cable could be the best choice we have made...this week...
then again I will let you know after I miss this weeks episode of whatever that one show is I usually watch.
Maybe...just maybe we will never go back to cable.
