Well husband made a comment about being BORED. BIG MISTAKE! Not even 30 minutes from uttering that statement we both regretted it.
Monkey has learned to open the sliding screen door. We generally let him go out onto the balcony as he pleases. There is not anything out there for him to get into and we are ALWAYS watching him when he does it. We were both sitting on the couch(or maybe husband was standing by the t.v.) and just talking and watching bradley excitedly open the screen door and start going in and out of the house.
He got a little too excited at the prospect of being free outside that he tripped and landed right on the metal from that encases the sliding glass door & scree.
He was bleeding.
We weren't sure if he just scraped himself or if it was deep so after applying pressure and seeing that it might need stitches we headed over to the E.R. We live roughly 40 minutes from the base's Naval Hospital. So we opted for a 5 minute drive to the local hospital. Considering our son was bleeding from his head, we didn't want to take any chances. Obviously that was a big mistake we arrived at the e.r. shortly before 5:30 and finally got to see a doctor after 6. (I HATE THAT)
I went up to the nurse and said my son is literally bleeding in the waiting room and no one is telling us what is going on. She said "Well were busy, 5 minutes" I kindly replied alright, and as I was walking back to Husband and Monkey she yelled "5MINUTES". I was irritated to say the least.
The nurse was great with Monkey. He looked at him and said "eh, it's cool bud, chicks dig scars"
They were quick and efficient. They were careful to explain everything to us and did their best to keep him happy.
This cotton ball had to stay on his head for 30 minutes so it would numb the spot where they would stitch. That translated to pin him down for 30 minutes. |
He was super excited about that. |
We felt bad and hadn't eaten dinner...so he got french fries. He was thrilled. Now he has 3 stitches that will be getting removed early next week. Poor monkey. |

Chicks really do dig scars, though!
I love K's. I poke at them all the time.
