Last night was great. We had some new friends over for dinner. Amanda & Josh and their little boy who is just a little older then Monkey. They are in our new ward and live literally the on the next block. I have been lucky enough to hang out with Amanda a few days this past week and then we decided while she was over for dinner and hang out time while her hubby had duty that they would come over to our house and we would make dinner and hang out with all of us. We played a card game I have now fallen in LOVE with, Phase 10, ate delicious food, and just had a good time. I love having a new couple friend especially one that has a little boy just like us! They are our first real friends that have kids now...it is kind of a big deal. They left around 9ish after our game ended and then it started...
trying to get monkey to sleep.
We put him in his bed and he just screamed. I was exhausted so husband being the AMAZING man that he is went and try to comfort him to get him to lay down. No go. He ended up having to lay down on the couch with him, the whole time Monkey was just SCREAMING at the top of his lungs, until he finally fell asleep. Then evey time he tried to lay him down he would wake up and start to scream. Finally around 11 Monkey was sleeping in his bed. Then it started all over again, around 1ish I woke up because I heard Monkey screaming on the monitor again. It took me a half an hour of laying on the couch with him and 15 minutes of rubbing his back in his bed to get him to fall asleep.
Our/My alarm went of at 7 to get up for church. I turned it off and fell back asleep. I rolled over and looked at the alarm clock over my hubby and read on the clock 8:45...church starts at 9:30. We need to leave our house by 9:15. I panicked flew out of bed, quickly showered and came back into the room to see my husband still laying there...I was starting to get annoyed then I saw it...8:00. The darn clock said 8. I freaked out for nothing. We had plenty of time. Ridiculous. I was annoyed that a rushed my shower...psh whatevs...at least it meant 5 more minutes of laying down next to husband!
We got dressed and ready and made it out the door on time. Husband had a breakthrough. I LOVE when he has breakthroughs. The usually lead to me being right about something. I LOVE being right. It feels soo good to be doing the things we need to be. Were on the right track. Even though sometimes we have hard nights, frantic mornings and stressful days, we still have amazing moments that make those not so great times seem like nothing. Just another moment that reminds me...it's life...
