I was lucky enough to go to TOFW back in April. My sweet sister in law and I met up in Arlington and had a fantastic weekend. I was super excited to get the chance to go, however I was a little nervous that I would be spending the night away from B and from Husband for the first time ever.
I drove up Friday morning. I enjoyed the quiet. I rarely go anywhere by myself let alone any sort of road trips. The 45 minute drive was perfect.
Once we met up we headed over to spend some time at the mall shopping and grabbing some lunch. I window shopped and helped pick out some outfits for the SIL. I love the mall we went to and next time husband and I are going shopping I will be making him take me there. My favorite part was the mall cop on a segway...We were walking faster then them.
I am so lucky I got to experience this with Amber. She is so fun to hang out with. The speakers were amazing and so inspiring. I learned so much and took pages of notes. The theme for the year was seek the good. I am trying to make sure I make an effort and include that in my daily life.
One of the highlights of the weekend was getting to meet some of my FAVORITE people.
I was super lucky to meet the girls who make up my favorite food blog. Our Best Bites. Sara and Kate are the sweetest ever. I was also lucky enough to meet the girls of Mercy River. I love them. When husband was deployed I would always turn to their songs to calm me during the times I would let my mind run wild. I was so glad they were at my TOFW. They are all so sweet.
My drive home was spent mostly in silence. I contemplated everything I had learned over the past 48 hours and made mental notes of what I wanted to focus on.
Husband was working when I got home, so I picked up B from his Grandparents house. As I was making him din din he fell asleep on the floor. I moved him to the couch and discovered my little man had a fever.
I am so thankful I was able to experience TOFW. I am looking forward for my next chance to go. (Hopefully next year) Who wants to come with me?
