Memorial Day

Memorial Day was spent at the lake.
We of course took a few moments to remember the brave men and women who sacrificed so much to protect our country. We are forever grateful to those men and women.

This was the first time fishing for B and he was so excited! Even getting up at 4:30 a.m. he was beyond happy! He loved being on the boat.

We got to watch the sun come up as we sat on the water. It was so beautiful & really made me thankful to be able to live in such a wonderful place. My FIL was our captain and our teacher for our fishing trip.

B loved riding in the boat. He was so excited to catch fish. Grandpa was nice and reeled in a fish and let him stay hooked just on the other side of the boat and let B "catch" him. He was so excited.

Husband took a turn driving the boat. I even caught my very own fish. I had no idea how heavy fish were. Husband was so proud of me for "not being a girl and touching it". I was impressed with my inner fisher-woman skills.

Earlier in the morning we had set out some jugs to catch some catfish. When my FIL went back he discover that we had caught a pretty big fish. The biggest he has ever caught. That "little" guy was just over 45 lbs. and he tasted scrumptious.

After we got off the boat we had a barbecue with the family. Husband and B played some t-ball and I tried to get a little color.

We headed home just in time for Husband to grab a quick shower and head to work. B and I spent the rest of the evening relaxing and watching some movies. We were both exhausted from the sun. We had so much fun and are hoping to get to go back and visit the lake soon.
