Before husband left I was playing with his ring as I normaly do when we are laying in bed and asked if he was taking it with him...he looked at it and said "yea, it reminds me of you" Aww so cute. Well I brought up the point of not wanting him to lose it, get hurt if it gets caught on something when he is working....etc. He said well, I will just put it on my tags. Oh alright, thats a good plan.
Well today husband and I have a conversation that goes like this.(H will be husband W will stand for wife...aka. me)
H-I need a new ring.
W-Why do you need a new ring?
H-I lost mine.
W-How did you lose your ring?
H-It was cutting of my circulation, so I took it off, set it down and misplaced it.
W-Awesome. How could you lose the symbol of our love and devotion to eachother? The symbol of our marriage? You better keep the girls away...just because you dont have your ring doesn't mean your open for business.(I was kidding with him...) Alright well what kind of a ring do you want? And wait...weren't you suppose to put it on your tags???
H-Just a plain white gold band that fits. I guess I just forgot to put it on my tags.
W-Well, I guess we will be getting you a new ring....I just want to say two things, 1. I told you so. And 2.your ring can't be prettier then mine. soo...What's your ring size?
H-Well, you are right, I was wrong. And I don't know
W-Well I guess you will have to wait until you get home so we can get you sized and then we can get you a new ring.
Did you guys catch that???
I WAS RIGHHHHT!
In all honesty I can't be mad. The rings we have are from his father. When we got married I was not thrilled with the idea of shelling out a bunch of cash for metal when we had a brand spankin' new monkey.I kept telling husband I would marry him without a ring, I didn't need one. I had tons of fake ones I would wear happily.
Well his dad was amazing and sent us two gold bands he had from...well I don't remember...I think Husband's ring was his dads and I think my band was from one of his dad's friends...or something. haha
Either way when husband gave me my ring he told me it was not my forever ring...that one day when we had some more money and less new babies...we would get something not gold and more shiny....
Apparently husband did not want to wait a little longer.
Maybe I need to lose this ring to get a shiny new one????
****In all honesty although I am not a gold fan, I love my ring because husband was the one to put it on my finger...and I don't actually mind it anymore. I think I will always keep it/wear it when it matches/at least keep it and he already knows how I feel about the rings...so no worries****
