when I get stressed I craft...

So this week has been rather stressful and I am preparing myself for what I am sure is going to be another "fun" one. It comes with the territory I guess. All those fun feelings....the reality sets in...

Well for my best friend's shower we sent out a recipe card with each invitation, asking each guest to write down their favorite recipe and bring it to the shower. We needed a cute/simple way to store them. Katie love, wanted a neat way that would make them easily visible, so she thought of putting them in photo album. I found a basic one  and decided it needed something special. It is easy enough so it could be changed out if she gets tired of the look or, just wants something different. 

I love simple things.

Back when I found out I was pregnant I wanted to make the classic name for the monkey. I found the letters I liked but I could not think of what I wanted to do with them. I did not just want to pain them a solid color, I think they needed a little sumthin' sumthin'. It is not spectacular but I like how it turned out. It only took me almost 18 months to figure it out....

All 7 letters are cute, and they have a nifty little nail hole in the back. 

I can't wait to have husband hang them in Monkey's room!

Considering the monkey, the husband and I will soon be living on our own and not with my mama. I decided it would be nice to make cute little frames to put a favorite picture into the frame. I chose one for each, my mom, older sister, and my younger sister. The frames turned out pretty cute. Although there are a few spots on each frame that I wish looked better. Not perfect...But I still like them.
