December Wrap Up?

So I guess it is about time I tell you all about our December.
It was filled and I feel like it went by really fast. Part of me is sad it did, but a larger part of me is so so glad it did. Ill get to that later...

It started off pretty simply. Setting up lights and decorations, starting projects, making lists, shopping, shopping shopping and maybe some more shopping.
I made it a point to show Bradley bits of Christmas..."do you see the pretty lights?" "look Bradley it is Santa" "look at the presents...those are for you" and possibly my favorite of the entire month "Bradley, you need to go to sleep or else Santa will skip our house" (trust me it had been a long day and this child was not giving in to his desperate need for sleep)
We Spent the weekend before Christmas at my SIL Amber's home. It was fun. We went to see this really neat light set up they have in their town. It was a short visit but still fun. Scott called that Saturday to wish us all Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, he told us he was out on yet another mission and probably wouldn't be able to call until the new year...I cried. for the first time, while he was on the phone. (At least I made it this long right?)

Christmas eve it snowed here! CRAZY! I have been told that this has been the most snow Texas has gotten in many years. (At least here in McKinney) I was having a rough day. Reveling it what is should have been rather then what it was. I am proud to say I held it together infront of everyone and only snuck away a few times to wipe small tears away! It was a good day...I came home from running some errands to findthe prettiest chest sitting upon my bed. My FIL made a hope chest for me, apparently spent last night and a good portion of the time I was gone working on it...I had no idea. That was just the start... we had some good food, and listened to my MIL tell the story of Christ's birth. Bradley was more interested in trying to grab his cousin then hear how the wisemen knew he was born...etc.etc. Oh well...I liked it. We opened gifts from one another. And when I thought we were all done I said Merry Christmas to Bradley, and got a little sad...and then my MIL said we were not done yet...I was confused. She came out of her room with some boxes and told me something about them being for me. Scott, set it up to surprise me with a wii and wii fit plus! I have wanted one forever and even asked him when he called me at Amber's if I could get one. he told me no,absolutely not, get it out of your head...I was a tad bit sad...little did I know I already had one! Although it is totally a family gift for us...since he will play too!
We went to bed so Santa could come...
I woke up to my phone ringing...
He surprised me again with a phone call! Best present ever! I was so excited I got to talk to him. And tell him about our Christmas, Bradley being more excited for paper and bows then the mound of toys he received, my amazing gifts and of course my wii!

Scott should be home in at least 3 months and 3 weeks. Which is why I am so glad Dec. seemed to fly by... We are on the last half of this deployment. I am ready for this to be over. For the next chapter to begin.  I am ready for him to be home.
My best friend is getting married! June 5th, 2010! I am so excited for her! I am even more excited to be her m.o.h.
So here is to a new year...may it be a great one!
(there are more pictures...I just can't find them...oh well)
