The big state...

So our trip to Texas...was a few weeks ago.

I know...I know...but better late then never...right?!

So scott came home from training on friday (it was the Sept. 4th). He decided he wanted to leave the very next day...unfortunatley for me he had to work that morning... and was extremely tired and it was late and there was still a ton to do.

Like the good wife that I am...I had a uniform all clean and pretty for him to wear...we decided I would just wake up early and finish the last minute things...including doing is pile of nasty, sweaty disgustingly dirty clothes from the past month. Yay Me!

Well I was able to get it all done...so by the time Scott made it home, we packed up the car(well he did...I watched), loaded up the baby, got gas, snacks and were on our way. We got a tomtom in Arizona because scott likes knowing the number of miles traveled, to the next step and everything else. Scott drove for a long time...then we got to the point where Bradley was no longer ok with being in the car...so we stopped right outside...or maybe it was inside of Texas and slept for a few hours...then it was back on the road....

We drove all day and made it in around 10 or so. Amber and Clay had stayed they night...so they could see us. We spent a few hours...or minutes talking...we pulled in all our stuff. Gave our very stinky baby a bath and put him to bed...before we "snuck out" for food. 

And so began our grand adventure in Texas...it consisted of...

-rain

-broken trucks

-fixed trucks

-rain

-new backyard renovations

-great food

-fun family

-OPEN HOUSE

-malls...oh how I love the malls 

-oh yea some more rain...

We had the open house the last night before we left. Everyone helped so much. We are forever greatful to mom & dad (brad & kitty) who put so much time, effort and love into making it such a great night. We were so lucky to have Amber and Clay male the drive down to help celebrate with us. We were so surprised and so very excited to have them. (alright so not so much surprised...since we figured it out the day before...but we were still sort of surprised) The invites, cake, flowers, decorations and food were amazing. (Scott looked pretty spiffy as well) 

Unfortunately after we cleaned up a bit...we had to hurry and pack up and go to bed...we were leaving the next morning. We drive all day...and made it back to california sometime after ten so we unloaded the car...and went to bed...scott was lucky enough to get to go to work the next morning. I was lucky and got to sleep.
