A three hour wait...but completely worth it!

They gave out flags...

They were scheduled in at four. At 5:40 they finally were off the buses. Well...yesterday afternoon my sisters and I drove up to Camp Pendleton to welcome Scott back. We left here around two and finally got there around three. We were expecting a huge crowed of people waiting for their marines. Nope! There were not many people there...Amanda estimates that 50 "normal" people. hehe

We read our comics...

Well the wait was not that bad. We got random updates from this woman on her phone. However every time she would talk to someone...the wait seemed to get longer and longer. The truck came to drop of their luggage about 45 minutes before they got there. People waiting got really excited to see all of the bags come off the truck. But still it was 45 minutes before there was even a sight of a bus.

A few people screamed when this truck pulled in with the LUGGAGE!
And then they came! The buses! First the "scary guys with the guns" got off...and then one by one the MARINES!! At first I was definitely looking for Scott...but of course I got distracted and started watching all of the reunions. All of the families finally reunited...fathers holding their babies, and sons hugging their mothers. Then oh wait...Scott right...well I looked down and he had found me! haha (If there is a next time I promise to be more focused)

Finally the buses came!

My mom took all of us out to dinner...and I learned something new about Mr. Scott...decision making is a rather difficult process. He blames the fact that for 7 months there were not many options. We went to Chili's. I think he enjoyed himself...haha I believe I remember him saying something about this was the most entertainment he has had in 7 months! haha. Glad we could help!

And he was here.

After he came back to our house and we updated him on life. haha. He showed us pictures of dirt, building, trucks, people basically Iraq! Some of the places were absolutely beautiful! It was really fun to hear all of the different experiences he had out there. Interesting how different Iraq is through the media.

Well he is finally back and I could not be happier. I know he is happy to be home...and is looking forward to going back to TEXAS!

Adorable! I love the estimate of 50 "normal" people! lol! You certainly meet people from all walks of life in the military. It can be a bit of a culture shock sometimes. :)
Thank you for linking up at Heartwarming Homecomings!
