Just a bit of excitement...(not baby related)

I absolutely love packing, organizing, cleaning and just making things pretty. My mom thinks I might have a slight case of OCD when it comes to cleaning. I will admit I get a little obsessive over certain things. But I find it is a great stress reliever, and is really just fun! hehe. Well, I am now past the sad part of why I am moving and have moved into the very excited, I get to clean and organize EVERYTHING!!!! Yea!!!!
Well this weekend my mom and I started to go through the mess we call the garage. (I think it is a California thing please correct me if you see it in other states. We don't use garages to park cars...no not us, we use them as storage rooms) Well, going through one of the many boxes, I found tons of picture, girl scout awards, Baby Jesus and a Donkey??? What?! I could not remember for the life of me what these pieces were from. But my name was on the bag they were wrapped up in so they must be mine. Well as I continued to go through the boxes I found more animal friends, wise men, a star, and everyone else who attended the birth along with the final piece being the stable! I had it all. My entire NATIVITY SCENE from achievement days or primary miss, or activity days or whatever they call it now. I had completely forgotten about it. I am so excited! I am so glad I went all those Wednesdays and actually completed the program. I set them all up yesterday trying to figure out if I was missing anything or had an extra donkey.(I did have an extra donkey, so the poor little guy who did not survive in my sister Ashley's box, was able to be replaced) My mom came in and said "well Jess, now when you get married you have your own little Nativity you can put out, and tell your children about how you earned each piece starting when you were just eight years old." I had not thought about that. I earned every single piece, by completely projects and certain requirements for the program. And I had something absolutely beautiful to show for it. I can not wait until I can set it up again!

I love nativity scenes. My mom got me one when I was 16 or 17. i put it up each year. The only problem is that she had given me pieces each year and about halfway through the set they discontinued it so i only have half a nativity. At least I have Mary, joseph and baby jesus and a few others. Glad things are going well for you. Good luck with the move. Hang in there. I just did it. It was bittersweet for me.
